We are thrilled to announce that MARINNONET has been honoured with the Atlantic Project Award 2025 by the Atlantic Strategy Committee during the 12th Atlantic Stakeholder Platform Conference (ASPC 2025) held today, November 13, in Galway, Ireland.

This prestigious recognition celebrates outstanding projects that advance the objectives of the Atlantic Action Plan 2.0, promoting sustainable, innovative, and inclusive growth across the Atlantic area. MARINNONET was selected under Pillar IV: Coastal Resilience and a Healthy Ocean.

Being named one of the winners is a true honour and a testament to the collective effort of our entire team — including our co-funding agency Interreg Atlantic Area and all our dedicated partners: Universidade de Vigo, Instituto Español de Oceanografía, Banco Español de Algas – Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea, 3B’s Research Group – Universidad de Minho, BLUEBIO ALLIANCE, Station Biologique de Roscoff, Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique, Munster Technological University, and University of Galway.

This award highlights our shared commitment to collaboration, marine innovation, and the strengthening of the blue economy across the Atlantic. We also extend our congratulations to all the other inspiring projects recognised under the different pillars this year!

As part of this recognition, our project coordinator, José Luis Soengas, presented MARINNONET and joined a panel discussion alongside other awardees and experts at ASPC 2025.

We look forward to continuing our mission of fostering cooperation, sharing knowledge, and building a more resilient and sustainable Atlantic community.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has contributed to this achievement — this success belongs to all of us!
