Resounding success at the second edition of the Transregional Workshop on Blue Biotechnology Innovation

The second edition of the Transregional Workshop on Blue Biotechnology Innovation was a great success. The Marinnonet project brought together numerous experts and key stakeholders from the Atlantic blue ecosystem to share results, explore real-world solutions, and generate new collaboration opportunities.

During the event, more than 150 real challenges faced by the blue biotechnology sector were presented, compiled after a year and a half of work and six regional workshops held in Spain, Portugal, France, and Ireland. It was a comprehensive day that showcased five pilot projects launched through the first call, addressed blue bioeconomy policies and funding opportunities in a special session with Maris Stulgis (European Commission, DG MARE), and fostered interactive and participatory debates with researchers, industry, civil society, and public authorities.

The event also served to answer questions and promote the second call for MARINNONET pilot projects 2025, designed to support innovative and high-impact initiatives aligned with the Blue Bioeconomy priorities defined by the consortium.

We would like to express our gratitude to all participants for their presence and collaboration—without you, Marinnonet could not continue to grow.
