WP1 establishes the governance and operational framework for MARINNONET, a transnational R&D&I network in Marine Biotechnology.
Objective: To create a robust network addressing Blue Bioeconomy needs in the Atlantic Area, supporting evidence-based public policies.

- Raise awareness about MARINNONET’s objectives and activities, focusing on regional, AA, European, and international communities.
Aiming to foster community engagement and innovation in Blue Biotechnology across the Atlantic Area (AA) regions.
Objective: Establish open innovation processes to enhance collaboration and innovation in Blue Biotech solutions across AA regional ecosystems.
- Organize annual Innovation Regional Stakeholders (IRS) forums and virtual Open Days across AA regions to engage stakeholders and showcase biotech advancements.
- Conduct AA Blue Biotech Innovation (B2I) workshops annually, to validate and implement innovative strategies in biotech.
- Participate in key marine biotech events to promote MARINNONET project outcomes.
This work package focuses on developing market-driven R&D&I pilot projects in Blue Biotechnology across the Atlantic Area.
Objective: Implement market-driven R&D&I activities based on outcomes from B2I workshops to advance biotech solutions in aquaculture, observation technology, and industrial products.
- Select and coordinate R&D&I pilot projects across Biotechnology Platforms (BP) to address regional challenges and opportunities.
- Develop pilot projects focusing on innovative ideas emerging from B2I workshops.
This work package focuses on planning for the future of Blue Biotechnology R&D&I strategies in the Atlantic Area.
Objective: Define knowledge transfer strategies and develop a long-term roadmap for sustaining MARINNONET’s impact.
- Support intellectual property rights protection, and skills development to facilitate the uptake of MARINNONET innovations.
- Develop a R&D&I roadmap for Blue Biotechnology.
