Networking and Advances in Blue Biotechnology at the MARINNONET Workshop during AQUAFUTURE SPAIN 2025

The Marine Research Center (CIM-UVigo), an EMBRC Spain station, hosted a dynamic workshop in Vigo as part of AQUAFUTURE SPAIN 2025, where the MARINNONET project took center stage. During the event, updates on the project and the MiTOXin pilot were shared, along with discussions involving key sector voices about current and future challenges of the blue economy.

Participants tackled three major challenges: innovations for efficient, sustainable, and resilient aquaculture; observation technologies to protect marine biodiversity; and new marine products for sustainable industrial applications.

The day reinforced the importance of collaborative research, fostering networking and idea exchange to consolidate a more sustainable and innovative blue economy. Thanks to all attendees for their active participation, which helped strengthen cross-border connections between partners from Spain, Ireland, France, and Portugal.
