MARINNONET Drives Innovation in Blue Biotechnology at Key Event Held on May 15

On May 15, Ireland hosted the MARINNONET Blue Biotechnology event, a key day that brought together experts, companies, and institutions focused on blue biotechnology. During the meeting, progress on the MARINNONET project and the currently running pilot projects was presented, organized around three strategic pillars:

  • Innovations for efficient, sustainable, and resilient aquaculture (BP1)
  • Observation technologies to preserve marine biodiversity (BP2)
  • Marine products for industrial applications (BP3)

The event aimed to identify current sector needs and challenges, information that will be crucial to design the next funding call in July 2025, offering companies the opportunity to join MARINNONET with pilot projects worth up to €15,000.

Thanks to all participants who are driving #BlueBiotechnology to build a blue future for Europe together. The event, organized with the Circular Bioeconomy Cluster at Munster Technological University, enabled sharing knowledge and visions that will define upcoming #pilotprojects and funding and collaboration streams.
